Registration and Enrollment
  • Online registration is NOW OPEN for the 2024-25 school year!
  • For participation in summer school programs, online registration for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year is mandatory.
  • All incoming kindergarteners, seventh graders, and new students to MSCS must submit proof of immunizations and physicals for enrollment.
  • Students without complete immunizations cannot enroll until proof is provided.
  • A Physical is required for all students who are new to MSCS.
  • New students entering Pre-K or Kindergarten require an up-to-date physical within the last 12 months.
  • Many parents have already registered their child/children but still need to submit the required physical and immunization records.  Be sure to create a system to easily identify these enrollment records and include the documents in the student’s cumulative file.
  • Please note that completing online registration is mandatory for all students seeking enrollment in Memphis Shelby County Schools for the 2024-25 school year.
  • Failure to register during the designated period will result in students not being considered enrolled for the upcoming academic year.
  • The SEED HUB is available to assist parents with student online registration, transfers, and other inquiries. Located conveniently at the Hickory Ridge Mall, the SEED HUB is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Early Entrance Kindergarten Screening

For Current Pre-K Students

The Assessment Department will be conducting summer screening sessions for Early Entrance Kindergarten placement. These screenings are designed to assess a child's academic and social-emotional readiness for kindergarten.

Screening Dates:

  • June 5, 6, & 7
  • June 25 & 26
  • July 9 & 10
  • July 23 & 24

Location: Board of Education- Barnes Auditorium

Scheduling: Please contact the Assessment Department at 901-416-5450 to schedule a screening appointment for your child.

2024-25 School Year Registration Support for Multicultural/MSCS Families

The Enrollment, Registration, and Attendance team is pleased to offer summer support to Multicultural/MSCS families for the upcoming school year. Our goal is to ensure a smooth and efficient enrollment process.

Enrollment Assistance with Bilingual Support Available:

We will have staff available to answer your questions and guide you through the registration process at the following Summer Enrollment hubs from June 10th through July 26th :

  • Gaisman Park Center: Mondays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Latino Memphis: Tuesdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • World Relief Memphis: Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • El Mercadito: Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Memphis Refugee Empowerment Program: Fridays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM

We encourage parents to visit one of our convenient locations during the specified times to get started with the enrollment process.

District Wide GEAR UP DAY

GEAR UP DAY is a district-wide registration event designed to provide in-person support to families with online registration and school choice guidance. This is a valuable opportunity for families to connect with school staff and ensure a smooth registration process for the upcoming school year.

We encourage you to promote GEAR UP DAY to your students and their families.

Immunization Support
  • Memphis Shelby County Schools (MSCS), in collaboration with the Shelby County Health Department, is hosting a series of convenient immunization clinics for students at the Teacher and Learning Academy (TLA). These clinics aim to ensure that kindergarten and seventh-grade students are up to date on their immunizations before the start of the school year.
  • Clinic Details:
  • Dates: Saturday, July 27, August 3, and September 7
  • Time: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Location: Teaching and Learning Academy (TLA)
  • Appointments: No appointments are necessary (while supplies last)

Kindergarten Age Requirement/Cut-Off Date for Entering Kindergarten
  • Children must be five years old on or before August 15 of the current school year to be admitted.
  • Five-year-old kindergarteners who have not previously enrolled cannot be enrolled after the first 30 days of the school year, which is September 9, 2024. Previously enrolled kindergarteners can be accepted at any time.
  • We encourage parents/guardians to begin the registration process as soon as possible. For further assistance, please contact your designated school or the SEED Department at 416-6007.

Discipline Reminders (Make-up Exams)
  • Students who are expelled during standardized testing should be given alternate times to take make-up exams.
  • Per Policy #6014, make-up opportunities should be provided to students who have unexcused (suspensions included) or excused absences (at least 1 or more days of make-up for each absence).

State Evaluator Training Updates: TEAM Evaluator Training

 

We're excited to announce that TEAM training is transitioning to the TeachALL platform. This transition will make accessing TEAM trainings simpler and more user friendly. TeachAll features include:

  • No more hassle with course registrations!
    • With TeachALL, evaluators can now self-enroll in initial evaluator courses at their convenience.
    • Certified evaluators will continue to receive a recertification email with log in information. 
  • Upon completion of certification courses and passing assessments, TeachALL automatically awards you with a certificate, that will automatically connect to TNCompass to upload your credentials.

TeachALL is an intuitive and user-friendly platform designed to empower evaluators. The new platform is easy to access with your Single Sign On (SSO).  

  • Recertification courses will be open from June 3, 2024, to August 31, 2024
  • Initial certification courses will be open from June 3, 2024, to March 31, 2025

NIE End-of-Year Conference:

 

The DEADLINE to complete ALL NIE End-Of-Year Conferences are as follows:

  • Central Office – June 14th

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:   

The Goal Setting Conference AND Mid-Year Conference should be completed in its entirety BEFORE completing the End-of-Year Conference in PLZ.

Note: Staff who have not completed the Goal-Setting Conference will need to do so.

The Mid-Year Conference is NOT required for NIE Partial plans and will not appear as a container to complete.
