TEM Certification SY2024-25: According to Tennessee State Board of Education Policy5.201, all educators must be evaluated annually by a certified evaluator.
For SY2024-25, there are three options offered in attaining TEM Certification:
- Returning Observers
- New Observers
Course numbers and date information can be found HERE.
*Note: ALL Returning Observer participants must complete their TEM coursework and calibration by August 30.
The NIE Self-Paced Recertification window for the 2024-2025 school year opened June 12. Identified Returning NIE Evaluators who were certified during the 2023-24 school year were automatically placed in the Recertification Self-Paced course in Canvas. Therefore, self-registration is not necessary and will not be accessible in PLZ.
NEW NIE Evaluators
Registration is open to Evaluators that are NEW to the Non-Instructional Evaluation process. For SY2024-25, there are 2 options offered in attaining NIE Evaluator Certification.

The district completion deadline for ALL RETURNING EVALUATOR Certifications is August 30.

The State is excited to announce that TEAM training is transitioning to the TeachALL platform. This transition will make accessing TEAM trainings simpler and more user-friendly. TeachALL features include:
TeachALL is an intuitive and user-friendly platform designed to empower evaluators. The new platform is easy to access with your Single Sign On (SSO).
**All TEAM evaluator completion certificates should be forwarded to Employee Performance and Support via email: eps@scsk12.org.

The 2024-25 Curriculum Maps will be available on the Curriculum & Instruction webpage on July 8, 2024, so that teachers can begin their instructional planning.

ELA: During the 2024-25SY the district will transition from utilizing Reading Prescriptions to the use of ELA Curriculum Maps which will align to the scope and sequence of the adopted ELA curricula. Schools will focus on instruction as outlined in Wonders (K-5) and or myPerspectives (6-12), aligned with the district provided Curriculum Maps. Resources previously noted on the Reading Prescriptions such as Ready Reading and or CommonLit can still be accessed virtually and used to supplement instruction.
Math: Stay tuned for more information regarding the high school Mathematical Reasoning course.
Science: The online STEMscopes tool for middle school will be unavailable for the 2024-2025 school year.

Please join us in celebrating the fantastic accomplishment of the "Backoff Brigade!" a sixth-grade student team from White Station Middle School who qualified to participate as National Finalists in the eCYBERMISSION National STEM Competition. Their amazing team, led by their Team Advisor, Chaka Carter Picha, has developed an innovative solution to combat tailgating accidents in our community. Their groundbreaking invention, the **ATLAS (Anti-Tailgating Lifesaving Automated System)** device, leverages cutting-edge Lidar technology and warning signals to prevent tailgating accidents and enhance road safety.
Out of over 2,000 student teams that participated in this year's e-CYBERMISSION competition, only 20 student teams qualified to compete as National Finalists at the National Judging & Educational Event (NJ&EE)! This event takes place from June 27-28 in Chantilly, Virginia, and there are plenty of ways to join in from home.
