Bridge Math and Applied Math Concepts are 4th-year courses that have been retired by the state of Tennessee. MSCS will be offering Mathematical Reasoning for Decision Making during the 24-25 school year. Feel free to use the demo account below to explore the textbook while resources are being secured for purchase. Please be reminded that teachers should not make edits or upload students to this account. They will have access to those features once individual licenses are assigned.

TEM Certification SY2024-25: According to Tennessee State Board of Education Policy5.201, all educators must be evaluated annually by a certified evaluator.
For SY2024-25, there are three options offered in attaining TEM Certification:
- Returning Observers
- New Observers
Course numbers and date information can be found HERE.
*Note: ALL Returning Observer participants must complete their TEM coursework and calibration by August 30.
The NIE Self-Paced Recertification window for the 2024-2025 school year opened June 12. Identified Returning NIE Evaluators who were certified during the 2023-24 school year were automatically placed in the Recertification Self-Paced course in Canvas. Therefore, self-registration is not necessary and will not be accessible in PLZ.
NEW NIE Evaluators
Registration is open to Evaluators that are NEW to the Non-Instructional Evaluation process. For SY2024-25, there are 2 options offered in attaining NIE Evaluator Certification.

The district completion deadline for ALL RETURNING EVALUATOR Certifications is August 30.

The State is excited to announce that TEAM training is transitioning to the TeachALL platform. This transition will make accessing TEAM trainings simpler and more user-friendly. TeachALL features include:

Memphis-Shelby County Schools Leadership Institute will take place July 15-19, 2024, at Bellevue Baptist Church, located at 2000 Appling Rd, Cordova, TN, 38016. The theme for this year's Leadership Institute is "Learn. Lead. Leave a Legacy." The event is designed to equip both emerging and established leaders with essential tools and knowledge to drive continuous improvement in educational leadership.
School leaders (Principals, Vice/Assistant Principals/Deans of Students/High School Counselors) will attend July 15 – 17, 2024.
ARRIVAL PROCEDURES DAY-TO-DAY SCHEDULE
Participants of the 2024 Leadership Institute should park in the west parking lot on Appling Road, accessible from I-40 Exit 15 Southbound. Upon arrival, proceed to the check-in area in the West Lobby.
Schedule:
Light breakfast refreshments will be served daily. Lunch will be on your own.

TASL
Leadership Institute is a TASL-approved. Leaders can receive up to 19 hours of TASL credit. In order to receive credit for your learning, please ensure that you sign-in and complete the survey for all the sessions that you attend.

iReady Standards Mastery for School Leaders
The i-Ready Professional Learning Team is offering virtual professional learning sessions on utilizing Standards Mastery for school leaders, Tuesday, July 23, 2024. The virtual sessions will be repeated (3) times to accommodate as many school leaders as possible. This opportunity is optional for principals interested in leveraging Standards Mastery for the short cycle assessments. Attendance will be credited in PLZ following the sessions.

Kindergarten and First Grade Bus Riders: Please ensure the following K-1 procedures are followed at your school.
Transportation Packets: Transportation packets will be delivered by the mailroom to schools Friday, July 26th, and Monday July 29th. The packets contain a transportation handbook, card stock and bus rules. Elementary packets will also include K-1 stickers to place on kindergarten and first grade students' bus passes. If you do not receive a packet by Tuesday, July 30th please email the Transportation office at TransAdminSupport@scsk12.org or call (901) 416-6077.
Bus Pass Files: Transportation personnel will email bus pass files to school Principals and designees beginning Friday, July 26th. A blank bus pass file will also be included for schools to issue temporary bus passes to newly enrolled students whose information is not in PowerSchool. Please ensure you print the bus passes on the appropriate color card stock (ES-Pink, MS-Lime Green, HS-Gold). It is the responsibility of the school to ensure eligible bus riders are issued bus passes.
Bus Seating Chart: Bus drivers will create a seating chart and students are required to sit in the assigned seat each day unless otherwise directed by the driver. School support will be requested if students do not follow the process as directed. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the seating chart process, please contact Terry Ellis, Transportation Safety Specialist at ellist1@scsk12.org or (901) 416-8141.
Field Trip Bus Request: First Student request a three-day advance notice for buses. The bus cost is $49.47 per hour with a minimum charge of two hours ($98.94) round trip per bus. First Student’s charges are calculated based on gate-to-gate transportation.
School Transportation Coordinators: Please provide contact information for two (2) additional staff members, not including the principal. This information will be used to notify schools of transportation related concerns or updates. Email information to TransAdminSupport@scsk12.org no later than Monday, July 29, 2024.
