Peer Reviewers

The State is seeking a maximum of 125 peer reviewers to score approximately 15,000 portfolio collections to give non-tested teachers an individual growth score as part of their LOE score. 

The number of peer reviewers needed is based on the number of collections submitted from districts across the state. Peer reviewers are paid at a rate of $20.00 per collection scored plus $50 for attending two (2) required trainings. 

Candidates must: 

  • Have demonstrated content area, grade level, instructional experience and effectiveness.
  • Be detail-oriented and demonstrate a rich understanding of standards.
  • Be familiar with scoring student work.
  • Be comfortable using and have access to technology.
  • Be able to articulate confidence in the portfolio model to demonstrate student growth.
  • Be available to conduct peer reviews throughout the scoring window.
  • Commit to confidentiality.
  • Preferred: Be an active user in the TNPortfolio Platform.

New Teacher Mentors

Special thank you to our school leaders and New Teacher Mentors as they continue to show their commitment to lead the way for our New Teachers. Your support is vital as New Teachers continue to learn and grow in the profession. The In-Person New Teacher Mentor meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. has been rescheduled to Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.

TEAM Evaluator Training

The State is excited to announce that TEAM training is transitioning to the TeachALL platform. This transition will make accessing TEAM trainings simpler and more user friendly. TeachAll features include:

  • No more hassle with course registrations!
    • With TeachALL, evaluators can now self-enroll in initial evaluator courses at their convenience.
    • Certified evaluators will continue to receive a recertification email with log in information. 
  • Upon completion of certification courses and passing assessments, TeachALL automatically awards you with a certificate, that will automatically connect to TNCompass to upload your credentials.

TeachALL is an intuitive and user-friendly platform designed to empower evaluators. The new platform is easy to access with your Single Sign On (SSO).  

  • Recertification was open from June 3, 2024, to August 31, 2024. 
  • Initial certification courses are open from June 3, 2024, to March 31, 2025

Professionalism

Professionalism represents 5% of the overall TEM rating for both tested and non-tested teachers and must be completed and finalized by both the educator and the administrator to receive an LOE score.  Professionalism containers are live, and educators may begin inputting narratives, uploading artifacts, and completing self-scores.  

New MSCS educators or any educator wanting a refresher on how to complete the Professionalism component may register attend the spring training.

Ensure that your respective PLC Coach or Instructional Facilitator are entering their weekly data via the PLC Tool each Thursday by 5:00pm. The PLC Tool allows our district to capture the number of teachers supported, identify areas of refinement, and trends in instruction. Instructional Leadership Team Support Sessions and Documentation Deadlines

Dear Principals,

We hope that you have had a productive week. As we continue to strive for excellence in our educational practices, we are pleased to inform you about the upcoming Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) support sessions organized by Performance & Leadership Development. These sessions are designed to provide ILT members with the necessary tools and strategies to enhance instructional leadership within your schools.

Upcoming Support Sessions:

1. TCAP/EOC in the Context of the Curriculum ILT Support Session (Make-Up Session)

  • Date: Thursday, March 20, 2025
  • Time: 4:30pm-5:30pm (All ILT Gradebands)- TLA Room 110
  • Location: Teaching & Learning Academy Auditorium/Multipurpose Room located at 2485 Union Avenue, Memphis TN, 38112

Documentation Deadlines:

To ensure we are all aligned and prepared for Spring 2025 ILT Stipend Submission, please be reminded of the following documentation deadlines:

  • Spring 2025 Teacher Log dates should reflect: January 6-May 2, 2025 *The ILT Support Session, Data Driven Instruction Cycle that occurred on December 5, 2024, can be included as (1) hour on the ILT Content Teacher Log for the Spring 2025 semester.
  • Spring 2025 ILT Teacher Logs and ILT Stipend Excel Sheet: Due by May 2, 2025 (Any schools submitting documents after this deadline will waive their semester stipends.)
  • ILT Semester Hours: ILT Content Lead Teachers must complete and submit to their respective principal by the deadline at least (22) hours per semester conducted and logged outside of the allotted (contractual) school day to be eligible for the semester stipend.
  • Mandatory Attendance: ILT Content Lead Teachers must attend all Instructional Leadership Team meetings and all District-level Content Support Session meetings to be eligible for the semester stipend.

Note Submission Extension: MSCS 24-25 Teacher of Year Nominations

Greetings Leaders,

The deadline for submitting your school's Teacher of the Year (TOY) candidate has been extended. Please ensure your nominations are completed by the new deadline, Friday, March 21, 2025.

We kindly request that you follow the four steps outlined below.

  • Step 1: Identify teachers within your school who meet the Teacher of the Year criteria.
  • Step 2: Outline a documented process that allows your staff to vote on the nominees. You can choose to do it electronically or in person.
  • Step 3: Scan the QR code or enter the URL to complete the form.
  • Step 4: Submit one teacher's name to the form by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025.

This signature event will feature an inspiring presentation by Dr. John Delony, renowned Ramsey Personality, bestselling author, and mental health expert. The evening will culminate with a special award ceremony honoring five exceptional individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication to education in West Tennessee. The awards include the:

RTI2-A Early Warning System (EWS) 2024-2025 data is available in the RTI2-A dashboard to support planning for the upcoming High School Spring State Mandated Diagnostic screener. The screener window is scheduled for 3/18 - 4/4 for grades 9-12. For more information, see the user guide.

COME to Win 6th 20-day results are available in the SD360 Attendance dashboard. Select charter schools data will not become available until 3/7. Periods are based on in-session instructional days, snow days are not included. For more information, see the user guide.

Principals can use the 3rd Grade Exemption App to enter Exemptions Requests. See the user guide here. School administrators can also use the MSCS Compass Literacy Commitment Exemption Report to monitor exemption request progress. For more information, see the user guide.
 
SD360 Attendance Truancy Details Report has updated business rules. The student level data table now shows PSSP - Truancy, PSSP - Chronic Absenteeism, and SARB Compliance separately. For more information, see the user guide.
