Supporting Our Families: 2026–27 District Registration Sessions
As we prepare for the 2026–27 school year, we request the support of all school leaders in communicating a vital message to our community: registration is mandatory for all new and returning students.
To ensure our families receive the necessary guidance, we strongly recommend that each school host at least two (2) on-site District Registration Nights. Offering multiple sessions provides the flexibility and direct assistance families need to navigate the enrollment process.
School leaders maintain the autonomy to select dates and times that best accommodate their families' needs. We encourage you to finalize these schedules promptly and begin outreach to your families to ensure maximum participation.
For technical assistance or guidance regarding the registration portal, please contact the Office of Enrollment and Attendance:
- Email: studentservices@scsk12.org
- Phone: 901-416-2989
Promotional Ceremonies & Attendance Expectations Policy 6014
All promotional ceremonies for kindergarten, 5th grade, and 8th grade must take place during the final week of the school year, beginning May 18, 2026.
School leaders must also communicate clearly to families that attendance remains mandatory through the final day of the academic year. Early disengagement cannot be permitted, and every instructional day is important.

Truancy Prevention & Intervention
As we approach the end of the academic year, our focus shifts toward identifying and supporting families exhibiting persistent patterns of truancy. To ensure we get ahead of these challenges before they escalate, please prioritize the following actions:
- Ensure all pending SART meetings are finalized and documented in the system.
- For students with ongoing attendance challenges, the creation of a PSSP is crucial. These plans serve as a critical roadmap for providing targeted interventions and establishing clear expectations for the next grade level.
Closing out these cases now allows us to enter the new year with a solid framework for family support and a clear understanding of our students' needs.
Please review the week of 5/4/26 MTSS Lead Weekly Updates.
The Spring Universal Screening Window will close on Wednesday, May 13. Please ensure that any paper scores are entered by 5 p.m. on May 13. Any scores entered after 5 p.m. will not be captured in the spring reporting. Please email questions or support needs to RTI2@scsk12.org.
- Students attending Summer School or Summer Learning Academy (SLA) should keep their assigned district device and charger over the summer, provided the device is in working condition and properly documented in PowerSchool.
- School Device Support (SDS) staff and school teams are responsible for verifying devices, updating PowerSchool records, resolving fines/fees, distributing devices by May 21, 2026, and maintaining accurate tracking records.
- Parents must complete and sign the Student Device Agreement Form, and students must bring a copy to Summer School registration in order to receive or retain a device.
- Most device holds and fines are being removed by the IT Department, except for certain middle school 500W devices and newer high school HP devices; however, unresolved fees must still be addressed before device distribution.
- Students are responsible for returning devices and chargers to their assigned Home School at the start of the 2026–27 school year (or immediately after Summer School for graduating seniors or students leaving the district), and replacement devices during the summer can only be issued by the Home School.
