Three talented artists from Overton High School have been announced as winners of Hattiloo Theatre’s first high school art contest. Earlier this year, local high schoolers submitted pieces highlighting famed activist and "one of the greats" of African-American theatre, Paul Robeson. The top student pieces were recently unveiled during a special ceremony on September 23. In addition to being recognized during the special reception, Lyrika Jenkins, the overall winner, will have her winning portrait become a permanent part of the Hattiloo Theatre’s art collection. It will be displayed along side works by acclaimed local artists in the theatre’s ArtsMemphis Corridor.
