What is CCTE?

In today’s career landscape, preparing for success after graduation isn’t one-size-fits-all. The division of College, Career, and Technical Education offer a diverse array of programs to give our students the skills and credentials to excel after senior year. Whether it be industry certifications, internships, or college credits, we can provide the experience to make any student a Ready Grad!

College Credits & Career Certifications

We offer 40+ CCTE pathways across all high schools, with 30+ college level courses and 30+ career certifications available in high-demand industries. Every MSCS high school offers one or more Ready Grad course tracks.

Career and Technology Centers

CCTE students at select high schools travel to their designated Career and Technical Center to gain hands-on training and continued education in their designated Program of Study. Students can also complete industry certification testing at the centers – for free. The four Career and Technology Centers include Trezevant, Kingsbury, Southwest, and Sheffield.

TCAT Degree Program

Students at multiple high schools can work toward an associate degree while taking courses on a TCAT campus. More details coming soon.

Internships & Employment

With increasing business and civic partnerships, we’re expanding opportunities for Ready Grad students to earn internships with local employers and get hired for competitive jobs – while they’re still in high school.

Every MSCS high school has one or more Ready Grad course tracks, so contact the principal or counselor about the programs available at each school. If you're interested in a program offered at another high school, be sure to apply for a student transfer during the annual School Choice Application period.
