District 6: Dr. Trenton Watson, Championing Westwood’s Growth

Students, teachers, and staff at Westwood High School celebrated the students’ accomplishments of a fight-free record and high attendance with a community feast event. The school also recognized its principal, Dr. Trenton Watson, for all his hard work and diligence.

Dr. Trenton M. Watson is a native of Memphis, TN, and a lifelong educator.  He graduated from Tennessee State University in 89’, then earned his master's degree in communications from Cumberland University in 05’ and went on to receive his PhD in Organizational Leadership from the University of Arizona. Dr. Watson has worked in several different capacities within the school system, from teacher to Vice Principal, and has been an educator in the MSCS for 20+ years. He believes that learning is never by accident and that the most intelligent people don’t have all the answers but instead seek the right information. Dr. Watson strives to build connections and partnerships to continuously invest in his students, and just recently raised $25,980 for Westwood HS through the “All White Westwood” alumni event!

We’re continuously proud of the work of our amazing principals at MSCS. As part of National Principals Month, we salute all our lifelong learners and educators and celebrate their journeys, which have brought them to where they are today.
