The Office of the Chief of Staff ensures all directives of the Superintendent are accomplished. In pursuit of this goal, the Chief of Staff serves as chair of the Superintendent’s senior leadership team and liaison to the Shelby County Board of Education, in addition to leading and managing special projects initiated by the Superintendent.
The Office of the Chief of Staff is comprised of the Board Office, Policy Department and Project Management Office. Through leadership and coordination of the efforts in these areas, our goal is to ensure thoughtful and responsible development of governing policies and operational procedures, as well as a culture of support and service that enables all staff to share in the mission of our ambitious 80/90/100% Strategic Plan.
The Board Office assists members of the Shelby County Board of Education and its constituency with matters involving the Board and its business. The Board Office also partners with various departments within the District to resolve constituents’ concerns.
The intent of the Shelby County Schools’ Minority and Women-owned Business (MWBE) program is to encourage and support the development of business relationships between the District and MWBEs. The District’s commitment to the success of MWBEs is demonstrated through our ongoing efforts to take necessary affirmative steps to assure that equal opportunities are provided for MWBEs to participate in the performance of District contracts.
