The Office of the Chief of Staff ensures all directives of the Superintendent are accomplished. In pursuit of this goal, the Chief of Staff serves as chair of the Superintendent’s senior leadership team and liaison to the Shelby County Board of Education, in addition to leading and managing special projects initiated by the Superintendent.
The Office of the Chief of Staff is comprised of the Board Office, Policy Department and Project Management Office. Through leadership and coordination of the efforts in these areas, our goal is to ensure thoughtful and responsible development of governing policies and operational procedures, as well as a culture of support and service that enables all staff to share in the mission of our ambitious 80/90/100% Strategic Plan.
The Board Office assists members of the Shelby County Board of Education and its constituency with matters involving the Board and its business. The Board Office also partners with various departments within the District to resolve constituents’ concerns.
The SCS Project Management Office (PMO) is a service-focused department that provides a major impact on organizational success by ensuring that projects are aligned with the District’s strategic objectives and educational vision, which encompasses the 80/90/100% Strategic Plan.
The Policy Department assists the Board and Administration in the review and development of operational policies and administrative rules and regulations for relevance, feasibility, effectiveness and alignment to the District strategic goals.
