S.H.A.P.E. Program
School House Adjustment Program Enterprise (S.H.A.P.E.) aims to reduce the number of Memphis-Shelby County Schools students sent to Juvenile Court for minor infractions. The program is soley funded by the MSCS Office of Student Services. The purpose of the program is to decrease the number of minority students sent to Juvenile Court for committing minor infractions. Similar programs have shown success in Chicago and New Jersey.


TIP SUBMIT
The Shelby County Board of Education has adopted the “Safe School Tips” program which allows any parent, student, teacher, or employee to report information about illegal or inappropriate activities, including but not limited to bullying, theft, distribution or sale of drugs, possession of weapons, etc.

“Safe-School Web-Tips” should be sent to Tip Submit or text to 274637, you will then be asked to type in a “code”, the code is SCS, then start typing the text message. 
Any complaints of harassment, intimidation or bullying should include the following information:

  • Identity of the alleged victim and the person accused;
  • Location, date, time and circumstances surrounding alleged incident;
  • Description of what happened;
  • Identity of witnesses; and
  • Any other evidence available.
  • Text us anytime you have a safety concern for yourself or other students.

TRUST PAYS PROGRAM
TRUST PAYS is an on-going collaboration with CrimeStoppers of Memphis & Shelby County that offers a safe way for students to confidentially inform a school administrator of a serious incident and potentially receive a cash reward as a result   The TRUST PAYS program operates in elementary, middle and secondary schools. TRUST PAYS provides a safer learning environment for staff and students by reducing the incidents of weapons, drugs and violence on Memphis-Shelby County Schools campuses.

RAPTOR

Memphis-Shelby County Schools utilizes the nation’s leading visitor management system, Raptor. This system instantly screens visitors to determine if they are a registered sex offender or a potential danger to the school while also managing custody issues, visitors, students, faculty and volunteers. Over 10,000 schools and facilities nationwide already rely on Raptor's web-based technology to keep our schools safe.


SCHOOL BASED PROBATIONAL OFFICER PROGRAM
A collaboration with Juvenile Court and Memphis-Shelby County Schools will provide school based monitoring of students who are on active probation with Juvenile Court.  This program will assist with the information flow, monitoring, and tracking of identified youth. The goal is to reduce crime recidivism.


YOUTH COURT PROGRAM
Youth courts, also known as teen or peer courts are an alternative sentencing mechanism for first-time non-violent juvenile offenders who appear before and are sentenced by a jury of their peers. Youth are referred to Youth Court by Juvenile Court.
