Universal Bell Times
In order to provide consistency in scheduling and support across the District while we are operating fully
virtual, the universal bell time will be 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Bell times for our i-Zone schools are 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Parents and the community will be able to contact school for support by phone and email, 7:45 a.m. – 4 p.m. each school day.
Student Dress Code
After receiving feedback from our families, we have added guidance to the student dress code for the virtual learning enviro
nment. Students will NOT be required to wear uniforms during virtual learning. However, SCS students will be expected to adhere to a virtual etiquette.
All students must be up to date on all required immunizations and physicalsor have an approved exemption on file. Students entering Pre-K, K and 7th grade have new immunization requirements. Click here to view all required immunizations.
You can make an appointment at our three student health clinics (East HS, Sheffield CTC and Westwood HS) by calling (901) 842-2379 or texting “SCS901” to 91999. You can also go to a personal physician.
Please contact your school for instructions on submitting your immunization records.
Shelby County Schools is committed to making sure every student has access to healthy meals this school year. Starting September 3, families can visit their school every Thursday (9 a.m. - 12 p.m. & 1 - 5 p.m.) to get five-day breakfast and lunch packs. Pre-K students will get snacks. Food items will be prepared in school cafeterias and safely distributed in a drive-thru pick-up line. Parents who cannot pick up on Thursdays may get their meals on Fridays (7 – 9 a.m.).

New to SCS? Get registered early! The first step is to get your PowerSchool parent account set up by contacting your school. Once your PowerSchool account is ready, you can register online anytime and anywhere using any computer, tablet or smartphone with Internet access. You can find registration requirements here. New students entering SCS Pre-K must make an appointment for application review after applying online. Students must turn 4 by August 15 to be eligible.View additional application information here or call (901) 416-3450. Returning SCS students must update all required info in PowerSchool before day 1.This includes phone numbers, home address, guardianship, student health information and more.

Save the date! Our annual Back to School Block Party is Saturday, August 29! This year, we're hosting a drive-thru celebration to help families power up for the start of school. We'll be at the Board of Education from 10 a.m. to noon so families can drive-thru for free backpack and school supply giveaways while supplies last, as well as other helpful information and resources for the new school year.
