
MEMPHIS, TN (MSCS) – Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) is proud to announce that, thanks to a high academic performance, the Class of 2025 has earned a total of $619,414,526.85 in college scholarships. This achievement means that thousands of new graduates will be able to fulfill their dreams of attending college and continue on their path to a brighter, more promising future.
“When we combine academics with attendance, attitude, the arts, and athletics, the outcome is very promising,” said MSCS Interim Superintendent Dr. Roderick F. Richmond. “The multimillion scholarships that our new graduates got this year is just a reflection of this and a testament of our leadership, along with our commitment to providing an excellent education, our dedication to our students, and our unwavering belief in their potential. We are not just leading schools; we are shaping futures, building communities, and inspiring the next generation of leaders ... Because GREATNESS GROWS HERE!”
Overall, 64.5% of seniors in this year’s graduating class received one or more scholarships, not including all HOPE or TN Promise Scholarship recipients. In addition to this, $8.6 Billion dollars were awarded in Fine Arts scholarships.
Among the high schools whose students were awarded scholarships this time are Whitehaven, Overton, Trezevant, and White Station. Below you can see a chart that includes all of the schools along with the amount of money their students got altogether:

Forty-one percent of the awarded scholarships are classified as “Academic Scholarships,” which does not include the 20% for TN Promise and 12% for Hope Scholarships.
Regarding the superior education institutions that offered financial aid to our students this year, it is an honor to mention that more than 800 colleges and universities awarded scholarships. The top 25 awarding institutions include the following:

These numbers show the outstanding progress that MSCS scholars have made over the years. As a comparison, MSCS high school seniors in the Class of 2021 were offered a total of $177,038,819 in scholarships; high school seniors in the Class of 2022 were offered a total of $347,999,369 in scholarships; and high school seniors in the Class of 2023 were offered a total of $444,068,356 in scholarships. The total amount of scholarships offered to the Class of 2024 was $522,735,920.
