As we celebrate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Day and School Social Work Week, Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) stands proudly in their commitment to the whole child. SEL reminds us that academic success is deeply connected to emotional well-being; and our school social workers, counselors, and mental health professionals work every day to ensure students feel seen, supported, and empowered.
At MSCS, we know students may experience stress, sadness, anxiety, or other emotional challenges. No student has to face those moments alone. Seeking help is a sign of strength, and support is always within reach.
We are committed to ensuring that every student has access to the care and support they need to succeed. By prioritizing SEL and strengthening school-based mental health services, we continue building safe, supportive environments where greatness grows academically, socially, and emotionally.
