The vision of the Memphis-Shelby County School's Teacher Advisory Council is to foster constructive interactions that are transparent with district leaders to elevate teacher voice and engagement by providing valuable feedback about issues affecting teaching and learning for all stakeholders in Memphis-Shelby County Schools.
The Memphis-Shelby County Schools Teacher Advisory Council represents the voice of Shelby County teachers who are committed to providing an excellent education for all Shelby County students.
We will accomplish our mission by:
providing consistent and meaningful teacher voice on decisions initiated by district leaders and Teacher Advisory Council members on issues affecting teaching and learning.
contributing crucial perspectives of school level personnel to bridge the gap between policy and practice.
meeting on a regular basis to support the development and review of Memphis-Shelby County Schools' strategies that impact teaching and learning.
making decisions in the best interest of ALL students and/or stakeholders
Meetings are held monthly during the school year. Each member also attends District committee meetings and other sessions upon request.
