Pathways to Teaching

Welcome to the Office of Educator Pipelines and Partnerships! Our team is committed to supporting aspiring educators on their journey to positively impact the next generation of leaders. We are responsible for supporting aspiring teachers by providing various pathways to teaching by partnering with local and out-of-state Educator Preparation Providers (EPPs) and resources to ensure educators have a strong foundational knowledge of their instructional expectations. We are excited to support aspiring teachers on their journey to obtain a Tennessee teaching license to become a Teacher with Memphis-Shelby County Schools.

Memphis-Shelby County Schools offers Pathways to Teaching Programs for aspiring educators. The Aspiring Teachers and Grow Your Own (GYO) Apprenticeship Programs are designed to remove significant barriers to acquiring a Tennessee teaching license and create a gateway to classroom teaching positions. Through these programs, MSCS and select Educator Preparation Providers (EPPs) will provide financial sponsorship, mentor support, Praxis support, and access to top-tier educator preparation through university partnerships.
