REVISED POLICIES

0000 School Board Meetings  
The adopted revisions, in part, clarify who can call a “special called meeting”, require the agenda for Regular Business Meetings to be provided at least 48 hours before the meeting (instead of 24 hours), and move “Spotlight on the Arts” and “Special Recognition/Presentations from the Board Work Session agenda to the Board Business Meeting agenda.  
 

0002 Board Members: Qualifications and Election  
The adopted revision incorporates language regarding the required orientation and ongoing development for all board members.  
 

0004 Board Officers and Duties  
The adopted revision clarifies that in the event of a permanent vacancy in the office of the Chair, the vice-chair shall assume all duties during the interim in accordance with Policy 0005 Method of Election of Board Officers.  
 

0005 Method and Election of Board Offices  
The adopted revisions clarify the process for electing Board officers and handling vacancies.   
 

0012 Board Policy Development, Adoption, Dissemination, and Review  
The adopted revision includes the “Board/District General Counsel as a responsible party.  
 

0016 Orientation for School Board Candidate  
The adopted revisions outline training and travel expense requirements for newly elected and appointed members.

 

0025 Constituent Services  
The adopted revision includes the “Board/District General Counsel as a responsible party.

 

NEW POLICY  

5024 Student Suicide Prevention   
A new policy was adopted to provide a framework for student suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention, including staff training, student resources, parental notification, and partnerships with mental health providers.

 

REPEALED POLICIES

0017 Board Conference-Travel  
The board repealed Policy 0017 Board Conference-Travel.
