Attending a Graduation

High school graduation is a once-in-a-lifetime occasion, and we want to make sure each student and family enjoys this time of celebration. We’ve put together a few guidelines that will help make sure graduation is a joyous moment for everyone!

  • All guests must have a ticket to attend a graduation ceremony, except children who will sit in laps. Be sure you receive a ticket from the student you are celebrating and bring it to the graduation ceremony.
  • To help ensure that everyone can see their loved one cross the stage and hear their graduates’ names, the following items are not permitted in graduation ceremonies: balloons, streamers, silly string, food, drink, horns, whistles, other noise devices.
  • You are welcome to take pictures from your seat, but only school-approved photographers are permitted to take pictures near the stage.
  • Graduates and participants may enter the graduation venues one hour before the ceremony begins (unless the school has made other arrangements for students to arrive earlier).
  • Please plan to arrive to the graduation ceremony early! Doors will close five minutes before the start of the ceremony and re-open after the processional, posting of colors and National Anthem.
  • The SCS Department of Broadcast Services (88.5FM/C19TV) will be streaming all graduation ceremonies live at www.voiceofscs.com. You can watch the ceremony from anywhere in the world online or on your smartphone! If you’re interested in a commemorative copy of the ceremonies, digital downloads will be available for $20. You can pre-order your copy as early as May 9 at www.voiceofscs.com
  • Attending a ceremony at a downtown venue? Please plan to arrive early. There is a fee for parking in some garages, metered parking spaces and parking lots.
