Digital computerized maps shall be used to determine if a residence is 1.5 miles or more from a school.
When a more precise measurement is necessary, a distance-measuring instrument will be used to determine the distance from the school to a residence. The Director of Transportation, or designee, will conduct the measurement.
The following method of measurement will be used to determine the distance from the assigned school to the student's residence: Beginning at a point in the school's property line closest to the student's residence, then continuing along the street curb line until reaching a point in the residential property line closest to the school.
