A hardship waiver allowing a student to be picked up or delivered to a location other than his/her residence may be made under the following conditions:
A genuine hardship must exist and there must be reasonable assurance that provisions are made for the safety of the student.
Both the student's residence and the desired alternative residence for pick up or delivery must be more than one and one-half (1 1/2) miles from school and must be on the same bus route to which the student is regularly assigned.
The request for a waiver must be made in writing by the parent/guardian at the school and be made on a permanent basis, not subject to constant and/or frequent changes.
The principal is the designated authority to evaluate and approve or deny a request for a waiver based on the stated hardship.
