A Message from the Principal

I am honored to be the principal at Lakeland Elementary School. I believe that we have the most advanced facility in the school system and the teachers are of the finest quality. The motivation and excitement is very contagious. The support from the parents and community is overwhelming.

I believe that all children can learn; however, we all learn in different ways to be successful. I encourage our children to learn through hands-on, cooperative learning experiences with a strong use of technology. In order to be successful in our fast changing society, we must know how to work with others and keep up with the latest technologies. Students learn the most when they teach someone what they have learned, and this is encouraged through our peer tutoring program and school-wide immersion projects.

Our children learn self-worth and are positive members of our community by being actively involved in community projects. Students are encouraged to take care of natural resources and to care for their environment by participating in activities to enhance the school and its grounds. Students need to be responsible for not only their own actions but set themselves up as an example to others. Our older students serve as mentors and role models for the younger ones. As we build our "Lakeland Family", our children learn a sense of pride in themselves and their school.
