Athletic Participation and Physical Forms
Arlington High is a member of the TSSAA
Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association

Student Participation
To participate in athletics at AHS there are two main requirements with TSSAA:
1) Each student/athlete must have an annual physical for the current school year.
It must be dated May 1 or later for the upcoming school year. Again, these must
be done annually, and you must have one to tryout/participate. See the individual
coach for copies, go to the TSSAA web site and look under forms, or see the link
below.
2) Each student/athlete must pass 5 credit hours the previous school year.
If a student begins the year ineligible, they can regain eligibility at the end
of the first semester if they pass five credit hours during that first semester.
AHS, and each individual coach, may have their own requirements in place for
participation as well. These will be enforced accordingly.
Parent Participation
Parents are encouraged to support their child and the athletic program,
but they are also reminded to show the highest level of sportsmanship.
Always display the best behavior possible, and always be a GOOD example
to
not only
your child,
but to the other young, impressionable eyes and ears that may be
around you. Support the Team and the Program, not just the individual.
Remember
the parents
job is to “parent”, and the coaches job is to “coach”.
Be POSITIVE with your child!!!
