The Shelby County School System's mission is to provide learning opportunities and experiences which meet the needs and maximize the potential of all students in a positive, safe learning environment that stimulates intellectual curiosity, commitment, and academic achievement; develops personal qualities and well-being which leads to positive principles, habits, and attitudes conducive to good physical and mental health; promotes an acceptable self-concept and work ethic necessary to productive citizenship; and fosters respect for the total environment and the individual differences of its inhabitants.

Millington Central High staff wishes to work with you, your child, and family in building a partnership to help your child meet and exceed the state's standards of education. The performance of our students is a shared responsibility of parents / guardians, school, and students.

We invite our parents / guardians to attend parent-teacher conferences, to share regular progress reports, and to visit, volunteer and participate in your child's educational activities.

We promise to work with you for the success of your child's school experience.

In return we ask that as a parent / guardian you will, on behalf of your child, agree to:

• encourage punctual and regular school attendance
• support learning at home
• represent your student, when possible, at school functions
• participate, as appropriate, in decisions relating to the education of your child
• communicate with teachers
• support the school in its effort to maintain proper discipline and safety
• encourage self-control, self-motivation and responsibility
• provide support, love, and understanding
