find little useful information on your topic? Do you often need
hard-to-find pictures to complete a multimedia presentation? If so,
then this treasure hunt is for you. This practice will help you

career. Have you given any thought as to what kind of job you might
be best suited for, according to your capabilities and interests?
Many students have no idea of what they would like to become in the
world of work. If you are in this category, you are not alone. This
WebQuest will help you chart your course directly to that great job
you "never see in the newspaper" through self-assessment checks,
Internet job searching, résumé and cover letter writing
and Internet posting, application completion, and interview
preparation. The necessary tools are here for you. Your task is to
determine what career is best for you and get it!

named Aware in November 98 would net you $8,700 6 months latter. Or
Where a $500 investment in June 98 in the same stock would be worth

use the Internet to create a portfolio of stocks to fund a Roth IRA
for the year 1999.
Buckaroo Investment Club by Nancy Ford
http://www.esc2.net/TIELevel2/projects/invest/
You and your fellow club members are being given $100,000 each to
invest in the stock market. This money may be invested in the stock of
your choice, and it will be invested through the E*TRADETM game. This
game is located on the Internet at the location of the investment
site, E*TRADE. Of course you will not be investing real money; you
will only be playing the E*TRADE game. E*TRADE's game ends each month
and you will be required to invest another $100,000 at the beginning
of the new month for the new game. Be sure that you have the
information on your stocks before the new month arrives, as you will
receive another $100,000 at that time and the record of your previous
month's transactions will be gone. Your object, of course, is to
invest as wisely as possible, so that at the end of each month your
group shows more profit than any other group in the class.

Future Quest by Leanne Twidwell
http://www.pvpusd.k12.ca.us/teachweb/twidwelll/FutureQuest.html
You are a high school career counselor. Students come to you with
their hopes and dreams. Your job: help them turn those dreams into
reality. Sometimes that means recommending schools where they can
study the subject they want to study. Sometimes it means showing them
how to apply for financial aid. Some students don't have a clue what
they want to do, and you have to help them explore career options
they might enjoy. Your principal believes that all students in the
school should have some idea of what they will do after graduation.
"Our kids are good kids, and they all need goals," he said at a
recent staff meeting. "Help 'em get some," he said, looking right at
you. Sometimes, you wonder if he expects you to be a magician!

A WebQuest for 9th to 12th grade Schools-to-Career students

in a big red bow in the driveway, on the morning of their 16th
birthday. But the reality is most teens do not have the luxury of

how to find a good used car, how to pay for it, and what other costs
or state laws are required in order to get you in the driver's seat.
This lesson is one that will prepare you for the day that you are
able to purchase your own set of wheels (it may be a few years, but
be patient). So, teenagers, fasten your seat belts and hold on for a
great ride.....
Zoom in on Your Future by Regina Meeks
http://www.esc2.net/TIELevel2/projects/career/
"What do you want to be when you grow up?" When you were 5 and
someone asked that question, you had 3 or 4 careers already chosen.
You knew what you wanted to be and were totally confident that you
would achieve your dream. Now that you're a senior in high school,
some of you are a little less sure about what you want to be. In
fact, some of you may not have a clue. Don't despair! Help is
available! In this webquest you will have an opportunity to find
careers suited to your personal interests, check out colleges and
universities that offer training in those careers, and check out the
future prospects for those careers. As you explore these areas, you
should be able to regain some of that confidence about a career
choice that you had when you were 5.
