You are our new Cultural Director.

As the new Cultural Director, you have some challenging responsibilities ahead of you. In order to be an asset to your team, it is essential that you complete the assignment in its entirety. For those of you wanting the highest level grade, creativity and extra effort are required. Your assignment is as follows:

• You must write a paper covering three different areas of culture, excluding art and music, in France. You might include cuisine, religion or literature. Excellent papers would include a discussion of how the culture of France is affected by history and its government. The paper must be at least 500 wds. but no more than 1000 wds. long.
• You must organize several activities for Memphis in May which must be centered around cuisine and another area of your choice. In the first activity you must focus on cuisine you must come up with a menu for the Bar-B-Que Fest and the Great Wine Race. Your second activity may focus on another area of culture such as literature or religion.
• A brochure must accompany each activity(either in hardcopy form or in a computer slide show). The brochures must include a brief explanation of French cuisine and the history of wine in France. The second brochure must also give a description of the topic such as a description of several French authors if you choose literature for the second activity.
