For the first time ever, returning students do not have to register for school! If your child’s contact info and address are the same as last year and he/she is up to date on immunizations, you’re all set for the start of school on the 12th at the child’s zoned school or approved choice location.
If any of your child’s information has changed, be sure to use the new Year-Round Updates link in your PowerSchool parent account to make updates before day 1. This includes phone numbers, home address, guardianship and other student information before day 1.
New to SCS? Get registered early! The first step is to get your PowerSchool parent account set up. Contact our Parent Welcome Center, (901) 416-5300 or 2687 Avery Ave., or contact your school for assistance. Once your PowerSchool account is ready, you can register online anytime and anywhere using any computer, tablet or smartphone with Internet access. You can find registration requirements here.
Don’t have access to a computer or need help with registration or updates? Contact your child’s school for summer support hours or visit our Parent Welcome Center (2687 Avery Ave.) Monday - Friday for help.
All students must be up to date on all required immunizations and physicals or have an approved exemption on file in order to attend school. Click here for required immunizations. Shelby County Health Department clinics are available in multiple locations around the county and provide immunizations whether you have insurance or not. You can also make an appointment at either of our two student health clinics by calling 531-6321.
Register for CareDox to track your child’s important school health info. Personal health info, like allergies and medications, as well as results from school nurse visits and health screenings can all be accessed easily online with CareDox. Get more info about signing up for CareDox here.
Does your child ride the bus? Be sure to let your child’s school know he or she will be riding the bus before day 1. You can find your child’s bus stop here.
Online registration for before- and after-school programs is open now. Programs vary school to school, including activities and hours, and are provided either by the District’s Office of Extended Learning Opportunities & Programs (ELOP) or a Board-approved external provider. Click here for a list of schools with programs and registration information.
Contact your child’s school for supply lists and dress code info. Supply lists and dress codes vary from school to school, so be sure to contact your child’s school before day 1 if you have questions.
