Important Information for Families Experiencing Homelessness
Under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, students experiencing homelessness have the right to immediate enrollment, even if they do not have documents normally required for registration (such as proof of address, birth certificate, immunization records, or previous school records). If your family is living in a shelter, motel, car, temporarily sharing housing due to loss of housing or financial hardship, or in another temporary living situation, your child may qualify for additional support and services. Lack of documentation will not prevent your child from enrolling in school.
Please inform the school staff or contact the MSCS Homeless Education Liaison for assistance.
