Greetings Northwest Prep Academy Faculty and Staff:

I hope that you have had a relaxing summer break, and that you are rested and ready to start fresh this school year! My name is Roger F. Jones and I am the principal of Northwest Prep Academy. I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome everyone before the start of the 2017-2018 school year. You are welcome to come by my office, call or email me at any time.

I come with a wealth of diverse professional experiences as a teacher, coach, instructional facilitator, assistant principal, and principal. As we embark upon a new year, many opportunities and challenges exist. This year our Shelby County School District continues with goals for Destination 2025 which focuses on 80% of seniors being college –or-career ready, 90% of students graduating on time, and 100% of college-or-career ready students enrolling in post-secondary opportunities.  Northwest Prep Academy will improve on 6 Areas of Focus.  We will improve Reading Lexile levels for scholars, increase Mathematics Conceptual Understanding, improve Vocabulary and Writing Skills, increase Attendance, lower Suspensions, and increase Graduation Rate for all scholars.   NWPA will “Be Intentional and Not Make Excuses” while committing to increased academic achievement. We will continue to embrace CPR:  Courtesy, Professionalism, and Respect for all stakeholders.

Again, I am excited about the upcoming school year, and look forward to working with the entire Northwest Prep family to equip students to meet the rigorous goals of Destination 2025.  Thank you for your relentless commitment to excellence, and for all that you do to ensure that every scholar meets his or her potential.

Educationally yours,

Roger F. Jones, Principal
