Millington Central High School's
staff wishes to work with you, your student, and family in building a
partnership to help your student achieve beyond the state's high standards
of education. We believe that high student performance is a shared responsibility
for parents, teachers, administrators, and students.
The School and PTSA Board members
(parents) have jointly developed this "Parent Involvement Plan". Millington
Central High School encourages the involvement of parents, both as individuals
and as groups, to act as advisors and resources, and become actively involved
in all aspects of the Millington Central High School life.
Parents are invited:
- to attend our annual Title
I meeting (held as an open house) to hear and receive the explanation
of the programs, activities, and curriculum available under Title I;
- to attend parent-teacher conferences
(held twice a year, in the morning and the evening);
- to be involved, through survey/consultation,
in an annual assessment of the effectiveness of the parental involvement
program and determine what action needs to be taken, if any, to increase
parental participation;
- to receive a copy of the the
parental involvement policy as well as timely information about the
programs under parent involvement through the PTSA newsletter, booster
organizations and annual Parent Involvement Survey;
- to attend PTSA meetings, Parent-Teacher
conferences and special curriculum and academic prep nights where the
curriculum, assessment and student expectations are presented;
- to participate in decisions
relating to the education of your student by attending scheduled Parent-Teacher
conferences and IEP Team meetings;
- to develop and follow a "School-Parent
Compact" that outlines how parents, teachers, administration and students
will share the responsibility for improved "student achievement" and
the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership
to help our "young adults" achieve high standards.
