MCHS Student Handbook

LUNCH /CAFETERIA REGULATIONS

  1. Breakfast is available for all students before school and must be eaten in the cafeteria. Unless students arrive on a late bus, it is the responsibility of the student to arrive at school early enough to complete breakfast by 6:55 and report to first period on time.

  2. MCHS is governed by a “closed campus” regulation and students may not leave campus for lunch. Also, outside deliveries will not be allowed.

  3. During lunch, students are restricted to the cafeteria and inner courtyard area. Students are not permitted to wander around campus or be in classroom buildings. Violations will result in disciplinary action.

  4. Students should go directly from the classroom to the cafeteria for lunch. They should return to class in the same manner. Students should not pass through halls or instructional areas of other buildings on the way to and from lunch.

  5. Each student is responsible for disposing of trash and returning trays /dishes to the tray window in the cafeteria. Failure to do so will result in cafeteria duty or other disciplinary action.

  6. Classes are in session in other areas of the campus during all lunch periods. Excessive noise, loud and boisterous behavior, or horse playing in the hallways, cafeteria, or courtyard is disruptive to others and a violation of safety regulations. This type of misconduct will not be tolerated and will result in disciplinary action.

  7. During their lunch periods, students are to use only the restrooms in the monitored vocational building. All other restrooms are off limits.

  8. Students may not eat their lunch in the classroom or remain in the classroom unattended during lunch. Food is limited to the cafeteria. Food outside the cafeteria will be confiscated and ISS assigned.

  9. A hall pass is required to be in any classroom buildings during the lunch period. During the lunch period students are to respect teachers on hall duty as they monitor the hallways. To disrespect or not follow the directions of a hall monitor will result in discipline action.

  10. Students may use the library during their lunch period. All library rules must be followed or the privilege will be revoked.
